Or she just wasn't in the mood for holding hands.
2
Honestly it looks like she was low fiving him but ok, who hasn't told their partner to get away at one point or another. The guy's a jerk but I don't see why this is even note worthy to gawk at someone's miserable relationship.
3
She probably thought he was going to grab her by the pussy
3
I find this embarrassing. So overheated. We look ridiculous as we focus in on the tiniest things.

Can we concentrate on the big stuff please?
4
Well, she was wearing a white dress, and I would imagine that orange tanner is a bear to get out.

On a more serious note, if this little gesture is a sign of a femdom relationship, then almost 100% of married straight guys are apparently in femdom relationships.

That's the "I told you I did not want to come to this event" swat.
5
"I married you for your money, not this First lady bullshit You have ruined my life."
7
@3: ok, mom.

let's start being nicer to the president and all his voters, slog!
8
She didn't want him to be President
9
I think she is the brains of the operation. I think she was sent by the Yugoslav mob to watch its $$.
10
It's likely the same situation it usually is and she's sick of it. Notice all the others are together in a line. He probably entirely forgot about her presence again, left her 'behind' and then suddenly remembered,"oh yeah... I need to pretend she's someone I respect and notice."
And fuck anyone that says this stuff is stupid to focus on. When we had a beautiful example of a marriage and family in the Obamas for eight years and all the right did was denigrate them when they should have been holding them up as a shining example of those supposed family values they hold, yes, this IS important.
11
I don't get why people hold any pity for Melania. She's not as stupid as Donald but she's probably just as terrible of a person.
12
I think #5 has it about right.
13
Agree with @5 and @10 (and @12 obvs). It looks to me like the classic "leave me the fuck alone" swipe your cat does when she's trying to sleep and the other cat wants to sniff her ear.
14
A continuous national embarrassment.

And worse: He doesn't even realize it.
15
@10 has it. He doesn't want to actually show her affection, he just thinks he's supposed to hold her hand, and she doesn't want to play that bullshit. At best this gesture is inauthentic, at worst it's fucking insulting.
16
I never thought I'd say it: Our First Lady is a good role model for girls. DTMFA
17
No she's not Scott@16: She stays married to trump because of the lifestyle he gives her not because she loves or even likes him.
18
It might just have been too hot to hold hands. Whatever she feels, she's stayed married to him, so it's on her.

I agree this is a minor point to beat him up about. But it's just so fun.
19
She could be getting paid by Republicans, to keep making the point that this President is a dud.
Oh look see, we've got the right one ready to go. President Pence. There better be dirt on this guy too, or it's going to be a true ideological war.
20
@7:

I don't see any reason why WE should be nicer to HIM than his own WIFE apparently is...
21
Watching this clip today, I kept thinking perhaps - yes, it's a bit of a stretch - perhaps she might have been more receptive to the gesture if he had actually looked at her instead of gesturing behind himself like you'd do when you call a dog to heel and then looking over to see if she was somewhere near.
22
@10 Vivic: I nominate you winner of the thread. Well summarized.
I wish Trumpzilla could be boiled in oil while in Saudi Arabia, with a
yuuuuuuuuuge fork in its ass and we're finally done with it.
23
It's tough bing an FSB agent. Especially on an assignment this long, unpleasant and arduous.
24
FemDom can still be a very positive, fun way of life to some and shouldn’t be associated exclusively with horrible people who apparently don't like their assigned roles.
"The Matriarchy you so crave," as the late Venn once wrote to me, sounds so much more appealing.
25
I think he was trying to pull her along to catch up. She was a bit behind. And she would have none of that, swatted his hand away, and strode forward faster on her own. I think it's about control and independence,
I have no sympathy for her--she knew what she was marrying. She made that choice and if she hates it bigly enough to forfeit the money, she could always leave. She probably thinks of his age, his preferred diet, his belief in not exercising, and figures she'll outlive him and be a rich widow, so she's still not willing to leave. Whatever. But, petty as it might be, I have to say I love anything that can be embarrassing to him.
26
O! the schadenfreude!

@23
I hope i may be permitted to have a wee chaste crush on you from a distance?
27
Did anyone see the selfie of the Israeli MP? Apparently the guy made his fortune by operating casinos and prostitution rings in Bulgaria. No wonder he calls himself "The Israeli Trump."
28
IDK how anyone can see her behavior towards him as anything but utter hatred.
29
@10: Like the Republicans in this thread follow "family values" of any positive variety.
30
@25 nocutename: I second your expressed thoughts, and cherish everything and anything that embarrasses and shortens the lifespans of Trumpzilla and ultimately, Pencezilla, ad nauseum. The more the better. Let Trumpzilla pork down on Big Macs; its four-alarm heart-attack and ensuing fatal stroke will be welcome news. I also agree on Melania: no sympathy there, either. She knew what she was marrying---most likely only for the $$$$$$$$ and Wall Street bailout protections. Their ilk has been a scandal since Day One.
31
@10 Considering the whole Russian/ Flynn/ Comey, the utter bullshit job of a president he's doing, and everything else... Picking on random little stuff makes us look small. All the mocking takes away from our arguments. It makes us petty.
Granted, Dan isn't your normal journalist. I see too much of this from the media in general. Why should anyone listen to a person that's being petty? There's so many things that actually matter that he could be attacked on. The Daily Show even called it out recently.
32
His kink is being pissed on. I would be surprised if he weren't in a femdom relationship. She's earning every penny of that money.
33
@26 - yes, I think you may. I've had one on her for years, and she's always been very gracious if at some point I can't help blurting it out.

Once i was in relationship with an ukrainian girl... I met her through Ukraine dating service It was the worst idea which could come to my mind..
