Manchester Bombing: The Islamic State claimed responsibility for Monday's terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande show in Manchester, which as of this morning, took 22 lives and left 59 injured. The attack was carried out by a "single terrorist" with an "improvised explosive device," according to UK Prime Minister Theresa May. Many of the victims were children. Manchester police have arrested a 23-year-old man "with regards to last night's incident."

UK Prime Minister Theresa May:

This attack stands out for its appalling, sickening cowardice, deliberately targeting innocent, defenseless children and young people who should have been enjoying one of the most memorable nights of their lives.

Parents Incarcerated in King County Jails Can't Hold Their Kids: Right now, they must communicate through a glass panel or over a Skype-like video chat. "A Difference Between Remembrance of History and Reverence of It": The city of New Orleans on removed a statue of Robert E. Lee, the last of four confederate monuments taken down 26 days. Mayor Mitch Landrieu gave a powerful speech at the occasion. On the famed confederate soldiers for which the monuments were erected, he said:

It is self-evident that these men did not fight for the United States of America, They fought against it. They may have been warriors, but in this cause they were not patriots. These statues are not just stone and metal. They are not just innocent remembrances of a benign history. These monuments purposefully celebrate a fictional, sanitized Confederacy; ignoring the death, ignoring the enslavement, and the terror that it actually stood for.

It's Still Nice Out: Cool, I mean, warm.
