Tim Eyman was in Seattle again today to crash a press conference called by mayoral candidate Jessyn Farrell to speak against Eyman's new anti-Sound Transit initiative.

Eyman took a break from his usual anti-transit/anti-government/anti-Seattle talking points to share his pick for Seattle's next mayor, as if anyone gives a fuck. And guess who it is:

UPDATE: Durkan responded by calling Eyman "the self-promoting village idiot of Washington State" and taking a dig at Farrell over a vote that will reduce the car tab taxes that help fund Sound Transit 3. Read Durkan's full statement below.

There's a reason the last few weeks before an election are often called 'desperation days.' Desperate for attention, Tim Eyman today crashed a press conference held by one of my opponents. While there, he apparently mumbled something to reporters about how he'd probably vote for me if he lived in Seattle. Just as desperate, my opponent then sent out a press release that said 'Tim Eyman endorsed Jenny Durkan.'

Let me be clear: my view is that Tim Eyman is the self-promoting village idiot of Washington State. Despite his lengthening losing streak on his misguided initiatives, unfortunately he just won't go away.

As U.S. Attorney, I stood up to mobsters and criminals. I successfully stood up to Trump after he issued his unconstitutional Muslim Ban and helped to stop the deportation of two people from SeaTac Airport. So believe me, I have no problem standing up to Tim Eyman and his right-wing initiatives, including his current effort to slash funding for Sound Transit light rail.

By the way, had I been in the legislature I also would not have voted to cut $2 billion in light rail funding, the way my opponent did earlier this year.
