Dear Anna,
I couldn't make it through this article because grumble grumble whine whine, grumble grumble whine whine some more... You sound a lot like how you described Whitney...

That was a fun piece of writing! Thanks, Anna!

P.S. Looks like "somebody" regrets reading beyond (or maybe just not reading) the introductory paragraph, where they were told exactly what to expect.

@1: Oh yes, the part-time critic who refuses to read. NEVER get tired of that one.

Anna, thanks for your service. I felt like I was there. Glad I wasn't.

thank you for calling Whitney's lead singer/drummer out. I was so disappointed at his shitty attitude that I left before he could completely ruin the album and his band's work for me. I hope he heard my sister when she yelled and asked him to be nice, then flipped him off and left.

As for Naked Giants, that was the kindest and most fun mosh pit of my life and I'm happy you witnessed it. Naked Giants deserves major cred for shredding like they do and getting us going.

This article sucks. I'm sorry you had such a poor experience, but complaining about security? Lame. You know if security let those adults drink beyond the 21+ area, or didn't clip the wristbands on those kid's drinking (illegally) and kicked them out, you can kiss having any bars at any festivals in Seattle goodbye. (Which in hindsight, might not be a bad thing, because maybe there would be less drunken idiots roaming the streets of Capitol Hill. Who knows?) Security was doing their job. And they did a damn good job. Maybe you don't like being safe- but the that's *literally* what security is hired and paid to do.

There are shitty people no matter where you go, and you're going to encounter a whole lot of them at a giant outside festival of drunken, blubbering idiots, in the hot sun.

That being said, Naked Giants! I'm glad they were a redeeming part of your experience. They're great guys who play great music, so I'm happy that you take away that experience as a "pro" to CHBP!

Anyway, my comment was not meant as an attack on you. Glad you're the new music intern and I'm looking forward to reading your future articles!

I experienced many of the same things at Block Party this year, and was also a virgin. Whitney was in fact, a bit of a disappointment but Lizzo and many of the festival's female performers SHINED

Please wait...
