As for District IV, Eden Mack is the clear choice. If you have any doubts, check out this press release sent by the guy who came in way behind for 2nd place: http://saveseattleschools.blogspot.com/2…
I think Betty Patu's showing in District VII shows the depth of her experience and character. Her opponent hasn't lived in Seattle long and knows very little about this district. Patu's passion for community and the kids in it plus her institutional knowledge and her ability to cut thru education bullshit make it clear why she should stay on the Board.
Lastly, in District V, it looks like DeWolf had a very strong base in that region while Helmstetter and Cooper - who are very good candidates - split votes and Vasquez got in. Vasquez should be rejected for the Board; he is a crafty ed reformer who is trying to talk out of both sides of his mouth to get elected. The Young Dems fell for it but no on e else should. Last thing - he currently sits on a charter school board for a group of charter schools in our region. It's a curious thing how he wants to be on the school board for a district that has a resolution in place against charter schools AND the city it sits in rejected charter schools at the ballot box. Almost like he thinks him being on the Board could change all that. If he sustains the 2nd spot, then rally the troops for DeWolf who has shown himself to be dedicated to community needs.
No mom, I'm fixing public education.
Well wash your hands when you're done.
