@5: I don't know how to answer that except that they sure kept it hidden, and the people who were suspicious needed to follow through and the legal system has its problems but most of all of us need to follow through if there is even a suggestion of child abuse - which may mean causing un-repairable family rifts - even if the evidence fails to materialize - because it's that important.

Not that this case is not horrible enough as it is, but so far police is only "investigating the possibility of homicide and sex abuse."
