Editor, The Seattle Times:

Judging from my experience, having a vehicle to live in is much better than not having one and is often preferable to living in a homeless shelter. Seattle City Council Member Mike O'Brien seems to accept the reality that vehicles are shelter, but the Seattle Times does not, according to the editorial, "Shelter, not parking amnesty, for homeless."

I encourage editorial writers at the Times to live in vehicles for a week, and also live in homeless shelters for a week. They could gain valuable perspective
