Last week a friend? of mine was in Green Lake park and came upon a group of kids throwing rocks at a bat on the ground. He was able to get them to stop, came back later with gloves and a box, and scooped up the bat. Eventually he brought it to animal control. The next day it tested positive for rabies and he received an email saying he had to get treated. Hey, uh, everybody, you can stop a group of kids from torturing a diseased bat, but please do not pick up said diseased bat. Report it to animal control.

Why did they say he should get vaccinated, did they not trust his glove technique?

Mmmm. Bat country. Always knew this was bat country. Never shoulda stopped here.
