Are they talking about allowing sharing of homegrown pot? In the bar code option would you have to get your homegrow tested? That seems dystopian but otherwise I don't see what the bar codes do.

Think about this, folks! This is ridiculous! Alcohol, which is the second deadliest drug, doesn't have any of these restrictions. Home brew! Home-made wine! Home-kahlua! Whatever you want to do. But grow a few plants and you're required to register with the state and use a bar code system? Back to the drawing board.

I'm with @3. I remember when I was a kid back around 1970, my parents made wine in the basement. Or attempted to, at least. About 20 gallons worth. About half of it turned to vinegar. I don't know if any of it was actually drinkable (I was about 10 at the time, so I never tasted it). But it was a fun amateur home-project for my dad. It required no permits or barcodes, nor were they limited to 4 bottles or some bullshit. This wasn't Depression-era gangster moonshine. This was a common respectable hobby. And still is. Home brew beer is a hip hobby for dudebros today, and is likewise legal and has almost zero regulation.

If weed is legal to consume, it should be legal to grow in my back yard, just like I can grow my own tomatoes or carrots. I can see the state wanting to make sure I'm not doing a major commercial grow operation in my back yard, but there should be no onerous regulations for growing a few plants for your own legal use.

Please wait...
