In what is likely to be his most relevant day as interim mayor, Tim Burgess will deliver the 2018 budget to the Seattle City Council today.

Former mayor Ed Murray's staff had largely finished the budget before Murray resigned in the wake of allegations of sexual abuse. Burgess said he would make some small tweaks to the budget before releasing it today. But when asked about calls from advocates that the city increase funding for survivors of sexual violence, he said he would defer to the council.

One thing he will add: funding to create retirement plans for 200,000 Seattle workers who don't get them through their employer.
