and, while you're at it, Jay, extend the waiting period for rifles to a month to match that for handguns. that probably would have stopped Allen Ivanov.
Not holding my breath, but I'd love to simply require gun insurance. The insurance market would price guns less useful for mass murder much lower than death toys. Require some percentage to be put aside for families of victims where the shooter was uninsured or not caught.
If immediately after a mass shooting is "to soon" to talk about gun safety, how long must we wait? A day? A week? A month?
Sunday was the 273rd day of the year, and this incident was the 273rd mass shooting of the year nationwide. If we have to wait more than one day, we probably won't ever be able to talk about it.
You may as well ban them, as they are pointless, stupid, and by definition make the gun less safe.
But at the same time, this measure brings whole new meaning to the idiom "rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic." You can essentially make your own bump stock with a piece of string.
This is just a waste of time, and comes nowhere near the real issues of gun control legislation.
Fully automatic weapons are not allowed in Washington State even if you have a federal license, these kits are already illegal on the face of it. Thank you Jay Inslee for trying to crack down on these scofflaws.
As usual the neoliberal are prescribing band aides for a fundamental problem that is much deeper, ie; the brutal nature of our dog eat dog capitalist society. I happen to be a socialist ...and I happen to want the entire working class to be armed in order to resist the continual attacks by the capitalist Neo liberal and neoconservative capitalis political parties --- the Dems & the Repubs

of course, the State Senate makes this quixotic.

Which, I'm beginning to believe, is exactly what 2A gun-humpers would prefer - that we just never talk about it...
Huh. That's a pretty interesting idea actually. I'm kinda surprised it's never come up as real legislation.

The more The Left talks about restricting gun ownership the more states pass laws going in the other direction.
Awesome idea.
