I care very much. I found out a few hours ago that he won Nobel Prize for Literature. He is one of my favorite authors. Highly recommend "The Unconsoled" and "When We Were Orphans". He also wrote "The Remains of the Day", "Never Let Me Go" and "The Saddest Music in the World" which have all been rendered to screen. I’ve also read his fiction in Granta, a British quarterly. He’s an excellent writer.
Congratulations to Mr. Ishiguro.
I read "Never Let Me Go." Saddest book I ever read, but ~5 years later it still comes to mind almost every day.
Saw the movie of "Remains of the Day," for what that's worth.
