Besides reminding these grifters point-by-point the exact words of the people they are slandering, white house reporters need to resign themselves of the constitutional right of anyone to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Every time they try to deflect or take umbrage or get outraged because they think it's "highly inappropriate", tell them again and again and again that we have a right to pick a bone with our government. With pathological liars, you have to say this stuff out loud to their faces and you have to keep repeating it. Every time they launch into a new lie, they pretend that the slate is clean and all the other ground rules from before are gone. The worst thing about pathological liars, in the long run, is that they are *exhausting*.

Dumbass.

I'm pretty sure the 1st Amendment gives me the absolute right to disagree with any government official, regardless of stars.

Last I heard the civilian government is still in charge of the military in this country. Therefore, being a general does not convey any special privileges beyond basic courtesy.

And? Wtf are you guys going to do about it, besides noticing. The women have got a conference coming up. Already darkened because they invited Sanders to speak and all these women went apeshit. He has since pulled out. WTF. These fascist pigs in govt are denying women their biological rights and many of them throw a scene about Sanders talking? A conference will do what. More plans, more women's marches, more pink hats.
Protests and strikes and noise are needed, constant emailing congress etc and where is this investigation. How much info do these people have to get. And the Electoral College, that has to be confronted before this bullshit goes down again. With Pence or any number of their ready willing and able white fascist pigs to take advantage of this undemocratic system.
FFS America, do something.

A great comeback would have been "Being highly inappropriate is our specialty."

People who have quite a bit of blind faith in Kelly, Mattis, and McMaster forget one critical failure: They're Trumpisst true believers who'll gladly lie, cheat, steal, disgrace themselves, and humiliate our nation--all in the service of their orange, fascist, moron gawd.

The latest outrageous disgrace from the cancerous white trash killing our country is a fitting end to Character Counts week!

This shit is so insane, you cannot make it up.

Dan, I thought you would be in alignment with George Orwell's understanding of fascism as he laid out in his famous article. No?

@8 It is however a bedrock principle of the military.

@12

FWIW, it actually isn't. Here's the USMC Oath of Enlistment:

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

@4: "And? Wtf are you guys going to do about it, besides noticing?" LavaGirl, what, exactly, do you want or expect the average American citizen to do about "it," except take note, make sure that the assholes know we're see what they're doing?
Most of the people in the country didn't vote for Trump and the shitshow he ushered into power; many who voted for him have changed their minds about him. Unfortunately, we can't ask for a "do-over" election--not even when there's proof that this one was rigged and influenced in direct and indirect unscrupulous ways. Our Constitution doesn't allow for that. There is no mechanism for removing an elected official from office that a non-congressperson or cabinet member can make besides waiting to the next election and voting him out of office.

If it was up to many of us, we'd either impeach the motherfucker or 25th-amendment him. But it's not up to us. Congress won't impeach, and the Cabinet and VP won't declare him unfit.

What I'm doing, in addition to letting my representatives and senators know how I feel about every issue on which they vote, keeping my friends and family informed of the issues and where it looks as if progressive policies have a chance, and giving my money to political campaigns, disaster relief, the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and Human Rights Watch, is noticing. If you have a suggestion about what the average, non-rich, not-already-elected member of Congress can do that would help, please let us know. I'd seriously be interested.

@4: Here you go, LavaGirl!
The problem is, there are very few Tom Steyers, and a lot more Robert and Rebekah Mercers and Koch brothers.

Please wait...
