Daily ballot drops from Burien show that the four candidates who ran on a progressive slate against a "Burien Proud, Burien First" conservative set have held wins that have widened over their opponents.

Pedro Olguin, a Latino labor activist who at the first drop trailed behind his conservative counterpart by 150 votes, is now up by 248 votes, or two percent of the vote. Jimmy Matta, a longtime organizer and the son of undocumented farmworkers, is up against incumbent Debi Wagner by 371 votes, or more than three percent of the vote. Burien Firster Darla Green already conceded to incumbent Nancy Tosta, and Krystal Marx is up on Burien First's Patty Janssen by more than seven percentage points.

Still, Wagner, Janssen, and Olguin opponent Joel Manning have yet to issue concession statements, despite wins holding for their opponents. In Green's concession statement, issued November 8, she congratulated incumbent Debi Wagner and candidate Patty Janssen for "their decisive win."

To be clear: They are not winning.
