Egyptian Mosque Bombed During Friday Morning Prayer: The bombing killed at least 235 people this morning and wounded more than 100. The New York Times reports that the attack is one of the deadliest in Egypt's history. Attackers detonated bombs and fired on worshippers as they ran out of the mosque. An Egyptian government official reported that gunmen stayed to fire on ambulances, too. The worshippers targeted were Sufi, a sect of Islam the Islamic State and other extremists consider heretical. The New York Times has the context on the violence that has plagued Sinai amid political unrest.

No One Has Claimed Responsibility for the Attack Yet: While militants have targeted Egyptian Christians in the past, attacks on mosques have been rare. "Sinai remains one of the lingering strongholds for the Islamic State as the group’s self-proclaimed caliphate in Syrian and Iraq has all but collapsed under air and ground attacks," the Washington Post reports.

Gunfire at Chop Suey: Police found a bloody shirt and a bullet hole in Chop Suey's back door after reports of gunfire inside the venue on Wednesday night. Two victims were later located in the ER with minor injuries. No one has described a possible suspect yet.

State Drops Complaint Against Pot Shop Mural: The Liquor and Cannabis Board dropped a violation against Seattle pot shop Hashtag after the Seattle Times started asking why it had filed a complaint against the shop's mural in the first place. The mural, by Henry, depicts brightly colored animals that the Board contended "appeal[ed] to children." "Hashtag co-owner Logan Bowers said the state’s 'might be appealing to kids' standard is 'dangerously vague.'" the Times reports.

Puget Sound's Obamacare Enrollment Grows: The Washington Health Benefit Exchange has seen a 58 percent increase in enrollment for health insurance from over the same period last year.

A Car Drove into a Woman Sleeping in Her Bedroom: In Federal Way. "A female driver hit a tree and drove through a fence before crashing into the home, hitting the woman sleeping inside just before 3 a.m," KING 5 reports. Two women and a two-year-old were in the car as it crashed. Police say another car had hit the crashed car from behind, but then drove off before police arrived. Luckily, no one had major injuries.
