Entertainment Tonight has the scoop:

ET confirms that Dom DeLuise has died. The Golden Globe-nominated comic actor died Monday at a Los Angeles hospital. He was 75 years old.

DeLuise will be remembered for his big fat goofy roles in Blazing Saddles, The Cannonball Run, and Smokey and the Bandit II. In his spare time, he wrote cookbooks and produced handsome sons. RIP, Mr. DeLuise.

Dom DeLuise: Giving nebbishy bears everywhere a reason to leave the house, if only to be wacky and adorable.

Rest in Peace, buddy!

Oh, Dom, Dom. One of the greats. Don't forget his stints on The Dean Martin Show and The Glen Campbell Show, or his great TV commercials.

Let's not forget about his role in "History of the World, Part I."

Aw. :( One of the only times I brushed shoulders with actors where I felt elated was meeting both Dom and Peter Deluise at a restaurant in Pacific Palisades on a visit to L.A. many years ago. Both guys were really sweet.

Not just handsome..but equally talented. All three of his sons have been on Stargate SG1 (either in front of or behind the camera) and have added a extra level of awesomeness to the show. Peter (the guy from 21 Jumpstreet) was a major director/producer and writer on Stargate and gave the series some of its best episodes.

But Dom will be severely missed in my house. This weekend will be a Dom marathon.

I just saw him in a small role in Sidney Lumet's 1964 political thriller "Fail-Safe" playing an Air Force Sergeant of all things - odd choice since it was a total non-comedic part, but what-the-hey.

"No applause, please. Save for the end."

You left out All Dogs Go to Heaven. Mobster dogs stealing children and dealing with questions of the afterlife, with sweet musical numbers? Best idea ever.

My only story of ever meeting a celebrity in Seattle:

About 10 years ago I was eating dinner at Sostanza in Madison Park with my boyfriend Matt when a round man walked by and started up a conversation. He said he was in town to do a commercial for The Bon Marche and introduced himself to my boyfriend, saying he was Dom DeLuise. He then asked my name and replied "Well nice to meet you, I'm Matt's friend."

He stuck around and chatted for a few minutes before wobbling off to a waiting car. Seemed like a really nice guy.

I *fucking* hate it when people pretend to care when some washed up has been that they've spent their entire lives hating suddenly dies. You know what it's like? It's like all the fake sorrow and angst on parade for the TV cameras when some cipher offs themselves during high school.

You all hated DeLouise. And rightfully so.
