The Two Ginsbergs

Posted by on Mon, Jun 8, 2009 at 4:14 PM

adf3/1244498422-francsberg.pngHere, to the right, is a photo of James Franco as Allen Ginsberg in the the upcoming biopic Howl.

Here, to the left, is a photo of the real Allen Ginsberg at about the time that the movie takes place. It's possible that this isn't as awful a casting decision as I originally thought.

still, James Franco is considerably more fuckalicious than Allen Ginsberg...

They are both nerdy-cute. James Franco just has the whole "Actor" thing to overcome.

I remember seeing Hugh Jackman on an interview show shortly before the first X-Men movie. The interviewer asked him about his musical background and he launched into a song from Pirates of Penzance and I thought there is no way this motherfucker could ever be Wolverine. But he turned out to be perfect.

That's why they are actors, I guess.

James Franco is amazing actor. I can easily see him pulling this off, without looking spot on phyically.

And he's way hawt. So that helps.

How did he feel about the scene where he fucks a 14 year old boy?

@1 Young Ginsberg was incredibly hot. Older Ginsberg was not nearly as lust-inducing, but still mentally attractive.

I tend to get a lot more out of real fags playing real fags as a rule, but Franco can do no wrong in my book.

James Franco is amazing. He's going to fill that rising young star void Heath Ledger left in all of our lives.

Ha. "There's a Heath Ledger shaped hole in everyone's heart, and only James Franco can fill it."

Kinda sounds like evangelist propaganda, except that I'd probably enjoy having James Franco fill my Heath Ledger hole than being evangelized.

...This is what happens when I drink lots of coffee.

Here's what someone at Starbucks would say to Allen Ginsberg if he were alive today in 2009:

"Sir, may I help you."

James Franco is way underrated. I write this as someone who used to think he was a talentless hack and was proven wrong.

@13, 14: I have a strange, uncontrollable lust for Jeff Goldblum, even as he ages. I can't explain it.
