Here, to the right, is a photo of James Franco as Allen Ginsberg in the the upcoming biopic Howl.
Here, to the left, is a photo of the real Allen Ginsberg at about the time that the movie takes place. It's possible that this isn't as awful a casting decision as I originally thought.

I remember seeing Hugh Jackman on an interview show shortly before the first X-Men movie. The interviewer asked him about his musical background and he launched into a song from Pirates of Penzance and I thought there is no way this motherfucker could ever be Wolverine. But he turned out to be perfect.

James Franco is amazing actor. I can easily see him pulling this off, without looking spot on phyically.

@1 Young Ginsberg was incredibly hot. Older Ginsberg was not nearly as lust-inducing, but still mentally attractive.

I tend to get a lot more out of real fags playing real fags as a rule, but Franco can do no wrong in my book.

James Franco is amazing. He's going to fill that rising young star void Heath Ledger left in all of our lives.
