The Job Creator

Posted by on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 3:11 PM

Bush is back!

[On] Obama's domestic policy.

"Government does not create wealth," Bush said. "The major role for the government is to create an environment where people take risks to expand the job rate in the United States."

This man has not a single drop of shame in his whole body.

No drop of shame? Kinda like how 95% of your posts sexualize women while the other .05% denounce rape?

Charles,
I disagree. I wouldn't either if I were a POTUSA. I highly doubt Nixon or any former Commander-in-chief had any regrets. I doubt Pres. Obama will as well when he leaves office. Glad W is making some rounds.

Mr. Bush is correct in this instance.

Bush is right. For maximum economic growth, you must reduce the size of government down to the bare minimum, and also eliminate all deficits, and any governmental debt, and just get the gummint out of the marketplace. Oh and cut the number of people employed by the government.

Why it's well known that that is EXACTLY how we got out of the Great Depression.

Uh yeah, 'cause the fact that his family has sucked off the government's tits for three generations, and the total economic collapse that resulted from King Bush II's "leadership" shows that he really knows what he's talking about.

I've got to agree with Bush on this one.

You know what a great way to reduce risk is? Universal Healthcare. Yeah, you can quit your job and not have to pay $400 a month to be insured. That's $400 you can put towards your business.

There can't be any doubt. This man has brain damage. He left the entire financial system and economy in ruins and he's giving Obama advice? And just think what would have happened had he gotten his way and invested the social security money in the stock market.

DOUG. 8
Bush's statement is inherently contradictory. He says government doesn't create wealth, and then explains how it does.

@3, 4, 6: Civics lesson FAIL - the major role of government is not to create an environment to create wealth. The primary role of government is regulation, and creating an environment that doesn't favor one class, race, creed, etc over another (see: a million other slog posts about gay marriage).

Interesting that, of all the dumb-ass things that Bush has said, the one that drives Charles over the edge one that basically simply says "socialism doesn't work".

Government doesn't create wealth, but a Republican government condenses it.

If you took a million ex-Presidents and had them jump from a plane, would you hear the sound when they landed?

What if it was on a minefield?

President Bush is correct. Add some pretty significant tax cuts, and this economy will start to grow.

However, our clueless Marxist homosexual in the White House will never do this, and is bent on taking over our lives.

HE MUST BE RESISTED!

Support the GOP candidate in your district for a big 2010 takeover. 1994 must repeat itself, or there could be no more elections in the near future.

The first 4 comments to this are complete bullshit. I'm not sure if 4 is being a smart-ass or not, but if you aren't, your comment is the exact opposite of reality. It was the massive and unprecedented EXPANSION of governement, in the form of public works programs, assistance to struggling businesses of all kinds, the creation of a "social safety net", etc. (and, of course, the US entry into WWII) that turned the Depression around. And to 16, you are completely fucking insane. Like Zbigniew Brzezinski said to Joe Douche-borough "You know, you have such a stunningly superficial knowledge of what went on that it's almost embarrassing to listen to you".
