Didn't seem like a very large turnout of protesters... Maybe I have high standards?
If Obama would at least let us know the time frame of when he's gonna get around to these issues, I'd halfway believe him. Why the secrecy and vagueness? If he really just needs time, why doesn't he just tell us when he's gonna accomplish this?
There was little over a week's notice, no official organization to send out a call until the SLDN.org members joined, and the protest was held at 5pm on a Thursday in hot DC summer weather. What a good turn out! I want everyone reading this to know that a large portion of the protesters who attended said this was their first protest. This urge to do something compelled them to participate, to take charge, and see in person who the individuals are that play us as a chess game. Individuals decided, on their own, to take action. Individuals will decide on their own to continue to take action.

@3 I agree with you for sure, I'm thankful they showed up. But man... with the internet, and the new openness, and the larger population of people willing to support gays... Next time, we should be able to get way more people to show!
Wait, this was the protest that was to be shut down, right? The one where tha gay atm was to be closed?
Regardless of the local, the date and time, the weather (any other excuses?), if the Gay community is really organized about this, there should have been far more people. Bitching on the internet doesn't work folks.
While the DC Blade has covered this - NOT ONE SINGLE MENTION is in Bay Windows (Boston's LBGT newspaper). NOT ONE MENTION, but a LOVELY picture of Barney Frank and a story of EDNA.
