As you know, all statements made last night at Candidate Survivor are legally binding in the election and in office. Lindy has them on record. And Kelly O took photos as the 15 city council candidates attempted to woo 800 people at the Showbox with song and promises.

David Bloom body-slammed the competition by crooning Teenager in Love, a song he remembers well from its original release. Bloom made it through two rounds before being texted off stage.

In a closing statement, Sally Bagshaw who was dressed like a member of the family Von Trapp in a spaghetti Western, confessed her deep, dark secret: she's a member of the mile-high club. Here she is performing a duet with Jordan Royer—who was much better than Sally—but he got about half the votes as her from the talent round. Bagshaw was among the three survivors, along with Jessie Israel and Dosol Plants.

Several candidates did not step forward when referee Kate Becker, co-founder of the Vera Project, asked if they had ever inhaled. No one was surprised when Robert Rosencrantz, who's so uncool he's on fire, stayed back. But Mike O'Brien, chair of the Sierra Club and hemp-hugger, never even tried it? I predict that O'Brien will have a "Michael Phelps moment" this summer. (This photo is not by Kelly O, but by Rachel.)

More photos by Kelly O after the jump.

Washington Bus had asked mayoral candidates to shoot hoops before Survivor began, clearly handing an advantage to 7'2" James Donaldson. Jan Drago played in pumps. They feel like a sneaker! But Mike McGinn was none too happy about Nickels, who didn't show up but did send someone in his stead. "Nickels sends a 6' 10'' ringer for the basketball game," McGinn said on Twitter.

Here's Jessie Israel in the talent contest, attempting to draw Mike O'Brien. Blindfolded. So it ends up looking more like Chunk from The Goonies. David Miller made fudge in the microwave but did not get it back to Lindy and Christopher live Slogging in the back. Miller writes, "If you're still craving fudge, and there is a microwave at the Stranger offices, I'm willing to make it up to you at lunch today."

Votebots are our future. They dance better.

Royer tied with Bobby Forch after the talent round, and here the two have a a dance-off, which Forch won handily.

Toby Crittenden, spokesman for the Washington Bus and last night's emcee, remained hot.
