Seattle Vice Detectives stepped up prostitution arrests along the Aurora corridor last week, busting five women in a series of stings between South Lake Union and the Bitter Lake neighborhood.

Police arrested three Seattle women, all in their 20s, a 25-year-old Bremerton woman and a 35-year-old Portland woman, after the women all allegedly agreed to have sex with undercover officers for money.

Two women were arrested on 8th and John and near 2nd Avenue in Belltown, while three other women were taken in to custody and near Aurora Ave N and N 125th Street during the stings, which took place between July 28 and August 1.

According to a police report, police were unable to book a woman arrested on August 1st into the King County Jail because, the report says, she was covered in open sores.

Reports indicate the stings were the result of increased complaints about prostitution along Aurora.
