President Obama's high-stakes town hall meeting in New Hampshire is starting now. Will the teabaggers crash it? Will a terrified senior ask about the "death panel"? Will health care reform be toast after today? Watch it live here.

Oh Obama, you big silly.

I don't like the reports I've been hearing about it so far. The townhall disruptor nuts are unleashed.

This is nothing but an orchestrated Nuremberg rally. Complete with people chanting (on cue), "YES WE CAN!"

Well, no we can't, and NO WE WON'T!!!

This administration is authoritarian, pure and simple, which is why it is so bitter and anti-American.

Rush Limbaugh's prophesies of America being systemically destroyed by this man will keep coming true if he isn't stopped.

So far, he's taking pretty softball questions. I'd kind of prefer he take a chance to talk down a troll.

The protestors at the other footage I've watched seem like they are not really there about Health Care at all. It's just the same wackos who were at the Sarah Palin rallies...they are "want their country back" whatever that means. What exactly has changed in the last 200 days?

Obama is a brilliant man.
As such, he knows his limits.
He will stay far far away from the troll.

Ok, now he's fighting back....handling questions well....and this is spurring the entire media to spend all day going over all the main talking points.

Insleee on Dave Ross was very good.

Good job Mr. President.

Now, repeat 1000x.

He said he supports "mental healh parity..."
Or did he say "mental health parody?"

Homonyms are truly dangerous things.

Or will Obama's people carefully screen the participants to ensure they are ideological copacetic with his agenda for socializing health care?...

no it was an open event and he took questions from critics. one said "I turned my self in on your whtie house web site" and he quite appropriately said hey wait a minute, we set up a web site for you to ask questions and us to respond, and there are some news networks that say this is for an enemies list, now come on!

A good peformance.

I suggest he take it to Missouri and Wyoming and places a bit more conservative than Portsmouth NH. The land of "we don't have any GOP congressmen anywhere nearby".

@15- The current plan isn't a damn thing like socialized health care and that is a damned shame.

Since most of the Birther tin foil brigade against health care reform are so old they're on socialized Medicare and Medicaid, they should have death matches where two men enter, one man leaves.

That would get rid of them.

"Death Panel" has such a nasty conotation. In today's corporate-supremacist Amerikkka, they'll be called "the Involuntary Transitions Team."

I'm 100% in favor of universal, single-payer healthcare as a constitutional and human right...

And then I remember that it would also cover the 50%ish of Americans who're hateful, mindless, sadistic, right-wing assholes, then suddenly I don't give a damn anymore.

Whether you like the Obama plan or not, the issue is secondary to your right to be able choose it if you want to. The town-hall disrupters would take that freedom away from you. I hope everyone understands this.

You can have a trillion-dollar bullshit war "to keep us from getting killed"... but if you lose your job, and health coverage due to a chronic illness: Drop dead, freeloader!
