Garfunkel and Oates: This Friday and Saturday at Re-bar!

Unfortunately I'm going to be stuck in LA and won't be at this weekend's Garfunkel and Oates shows at Re-bar. Fortunately, as I'm stuck in LA, I got to go out for drinks with Riki "Garfunkel" Lindhome and Kate "Oates" Micucci and take one totally bad cell phone picture of the girls with their eyes closed! (See above.) I also got to see their completely awesome live show at the LA branch of the Upright Citizens Brigade. Both Seattle G&O shows are sold out... but since a lot of people bought the tickets way in advance, there will probably be at least a dozen no-shows at each performance. So the Stranger and Trouble Dicso will be selling rush tickets at the door five minutes before the show for any unclaimed seats.

For G&O haters, did you know you can see Riki "Garfunkel" Lindhome get shot in the face in the remake of Last House On the Left? It's true! Enjoy!

Weren't they closing their eyes on purpose? The pose in your photo seems to be very similar to the cover of their album that came out last week:

The movie trailer talks about it being a remake. I'm assuming the original was Bergman's "The Virgin Spring." It would be hard to beat, Garfunkle notwithstanding.

@4 I believe they're referring to Wes Craven's original from 1972, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068833/

@5 Which, in turn, is a remake of Bergman's The Virgin Spring.

There was also Chaos, which was its own vile twist on the same story.

Throwing my wondering thoughts out there--though I don't expect an answer: Are you in LA taping/creating/making a television show?

Riki looks cute with the dark hair. But Mythbusters proved that she'd be safe from being shot like that under that water (for most guns).

@10: yeah, that was pretty much my point. If he were to remake his own movie, Bergman would probably have used a spearfishing gun.

@8 Which in turn is based on "Töres dotter i Wänge" Fact is, few films are based on true original screenplays/material, but that doesn't make them any less compelling to watch.

let's talk about all the other great stuff coming!
For instance: the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia cast or Coco Peru.

I'd do Kate all day and night and then sleep for an hour and do her all over again for another week. And she'd like it too!
