he wasn't even cold before it wasn't too soon.

I didn't watch the funeral, or read anything about it, but I'm assuming this is a Michael Jackson joke?

If so, then no.

No, no. I don't mean too soon about MJ's death, I mean too soon about using that picture of Rick Santorum's daughter crying after he lost his senate seat.

I too have no idea what you're referring to. But if it's about Michael Jackson, he's fair game.

So - you know that the last "W" stands for "web", right?

No link to the source?

It is not his daughter's fault that Santorum is a looser, a wingnut and a buffoon whose name is the same as a slimy substance. I'll bet she gets married at a young age just so she can have a respectable last name.

I don't think I get it. Is the joke that two different young girls are crying for two different reasons? If so, then it's always too soon.

Maybe the joke (or rather, ironic observation) is: Two men who were poisonous to society are no longer in a position to do further harm. Sensible people everywhere are feeling relief (not to say triumphant joy). Yet the girls cry.

It's quite poignant, actually.

The only thing to get is the ironic juxtaposition.

But then, I have no heart.

As one who just two weeks ago buried my mother, I would have to say, "yes, too soon." To those of you who think it isn't, get back to me after one of your parents dies.

Stella, Dan has buried his mother. I've buried my father. Speaking for myself, it hasn't changed how I feel about this one iota.

And my condolences to you.

Brings to mind one of Monty Python's funniest moments:

"We can burn her, bury her or dump her."
"Dump her?"
"In the Thames."
"What?!"
"Oh, did you like your mother? We won't dump her then."

Iono - it does seem cruel on the poor girl. It's not like she's asked to the offspring of mr Frothy Mix.

I guess I'd rather it be one of the hypocritical buggers, themselves.

Jackson-Palin cagematch, though: go ahead!

I think it's always wrong to drag peoples' kids through the mud like that. I can't stand Santorum (the person or the substance), and I don't care much either way about MJ, but their daughters are innocent children who should be left out of the muck. This is no different than Rush Limbaugh showing a picture of Chelsea Clinton and calling her the White House dog. I doubt Dan, or any of his fans (including myself), would find it funny if his haters used images of his son in this way.

Gotta love how they so CLEARLY dressed up Santorum's daughter for this. She's WAY to old to wear that atrocious thing and be holding a doll in public. It was an obvious PR stunt, and I think it's unfeeling to compare that to a child crying over the loss of a father.
