Thank you so much for your prayers and support over the last few months.

Thank you for praying about the last chemo treatment. It's time for the next one which will be Monday, October 5. Please pray for the successful placement of a power port which will be followed by the chemo treatment. Also, please pray for my vanity as it may cause me to lose my trademark beard! Thank you for praying that the second treatment will go as well as the first. Please pray for more weight gain which has been happening and that I can continue to come to work and preach as I have been doing.

Pastor Hutch

isn't vanity a sin?

This guy asks for quite a lot.

I always have thought the idea of prayer to be kind of strange. Asking god to adjust his perfect plan to tailor to your earthly desires? Seems strange from a logical perspective, though I know that's not the point.

Poor guy. Maybe someone could hook him up with some medicinal marijuana?

He trademarked beards? I know some folks who aren't going to like that.

I thought this kind of stuff only happened to bad people. Live and learn.

If he beats this, do you think he will give public thanks to the team of doctors, nurses, specialists, etc who attended to him, and to the masses of scientists and researchers who developed the treatments?

Or will he attribute all to his invisible sky friend?

Let's watch!

Power port? Does that mean he carries a battery?

I still find this idea that prayer is some kind of remote control for God to be fascinating. I thought he already knew what was best.

If any of you slogsters are partial to prayer, how about you pray that my dad's chemo is successful, since he supports equal rights and Gay marriage and all that.

You bet, Luckier, I'll add your Dad to my prayer List. If I waas a batter man I would do the same for the Pastor-but I am not that good.

I don't understand these slog posts. Did cancer become funny at some point? I think I missed that trend.

I've been there, luckier, and I wish you strength and grace to help your father during his illness, and good health to your dad.

As for Hutch, I'm sure his connections with the almighty are much better than mine, so I don't think I should intervene. I'm sure my meager prayers would just get in the way.

@8:

I was wondering the same thing myself. I mean, how does he think all those drugs and power ports and what-not get into him in the first place? Does he think he just wakes up each morning to discover that Yahweh has miraculously implanted a large mass of plastic and surgical steel in his chest while he was sleeping?

Fucking idiot.

Man, this guy is wasting all his prayers on piddling stuff.

I'm saving mine up for that awesome ski boat!

A port is a small piece of equipment with tubing that is inserted into the upper chest. It is so they can administer chemo easily without blowing out all the veins in your arms. It is not a comfortable procedure but it's not major.

Farrah Fawcett, for whatever reason, did not have a port and that's why, at the end of her video, she is in so much pain when they give her IVs because the veins in her arms were blown out.

Okay.

Dear God,

Please make Reverend Hutch lose his beard so he can conquer the sin of vanity.

Amen.
