Posted by on Mon, Oct 5, 2009 at 2:56 PM

Are you getting ready for National Novel Writing Month? If so, do you need an idea for a novel? Wondermark is looking out for you with its new invention, the Electro-Plasmic Hydrocephalic Genre-Fiction Generator 2000. Here's the first corner:

If you're incredibly lazy, you can have an internet robot compile a story idea for you by clicking on this link.

Didn't Gore Vidal have a character in "Duluth" use a device with a similar function generate her stories?

i actually like the one i got.

"Your title is: “The Astronauts”

In a metaphorical Aztec empire, a young collector of oddities stumbles across a dream-inducing drug which spurs him into conflict with forces that encourage conformity, with the help of a tomboyish female mechanic and her reference book, culminating in a false victory with the promise of future danger."

i'd probably read a book about that.
