Spoilers & Vomit: Balloon Boy Day #2

Posted by on Fri, Oct 16, 2009 at 9:14 AM

Dominic mentioned this in the Morning News, but you all deserve video.

During an interview last night on CNN, the balloon boy's father asked the balloon boy why he didn't reveal himself when he heard people calling for him. The balloon boy replied by saying "it was for the show."

And during this morning's Today show, the balloon boy vomited on camera while his father swore to Meredith Viera that this is not a hoax.

Oh man. The Heene family have instantly become my favorite non-hoarding TV characters.

Poor kids, they never had a chance in that bizarre family. I just watched one of the episodes of Wife Swap featuring them, and that dad is royal jerk.

And now the family has released video if the balloon becoming untethered. It's supposed to support their version of the story but the father is so obviously acting in his faux outrage about the balloon becoming loose.

Those kids need to be taken away by the corresponding authorities and the parents need to be handed over the bill for the cost of the whole rescue operation.

Every child deserves a policeman and a social worker.

Between Jon & Kate and this misbegotten family, the white/Asian combo isn't looking too good. What would Louisiana judges say?

The Father claimed that his six year old child didn't understand the question being asked. Well, I have five year old twin boys, and I can guarantee that they would surely understand that type of question.

Is this boy developmentally delayed? That would explain his not being able to answer the question correctly.

Loveschild -- what about families where the children are indoctrinated that God hates them and wants them to burn in hell forever because of how they are? Should those children be taken away by the corresponding authorities?

Less than 24 hours later and The Heene family already bores me to tears.

As a few of us called it yesterday....
The father is such a wannabe actor. With 'News' aka reality T.V. blurred line, same thing, etc. he doesn't have to provide a reel, or show up for screen tests. just DIY!

I love it when Wolf calls him "The Falcon" at 1:35.

Not only should the family be billed for the rescue, but if it is proved that they faked the whole thing charges should be filed similar pulling a fire alarm when there is no fire.

If there had been a real emergency the rescue crews would have beem tied up with this stunt or the emergency responders could have had an accident. The world should totally ignore this family especially the father.

I think the Seattle Art Museum should hire the Dad as their Publicist.

Best part: watching Falcon's brothers make "This is hilarious/disgusting/awesome!" faces while Falcon was barfing. The one on the left was snottily grossed out, and the one in the middle couldn't keep from laughing even as he made faces. Kids are the best.

Worst part: That was clearly stress-vomit, not sick-vomit. Poor kid probably got read the riot act (for either releasing the balloon and hiding, or for blurting out the "it was for the show" bit; either way he got in trouble), then got four hours of sleep and then was dragged out of bed and plopped in front of a camera for interrogation first thing in the morning. No wonder he threw up.

The Amazing Jim 16
I propse we refer to this whole farce as:

The Falcon and the Snow-Job.

Any takers?

For fuck's sake, has it occurred to anyone that the "you said this is for a show" comment might have been about the balloon itself - i.e. what he was being yelled at about prior to this whole thing starting? He's fucking six. Really media? It's not possible that he DIDN'T understand the question, or even answered it literally? Jesus, get this kid off TV already.

Anyone who was or would be on Wife Swap should have their kids taken away.

Apparently the most difficult sort of whoring to stop is that of the attention whore. With your witting kids as props.

David,
That just might be about the funniest thing I've seen on SLOG (The kid vomiting live on TV). The look on the father's face is worth a thousand words.

The only thing America likes more than vomiting people on reality shows is blurred out tits.

If it's proved they did this on purpose send them the bill and try the parents and give the kids to social services. Whatever the deal with that is everyone needs to stop paying attention to them. The parent's are clearly attention whores. The more we pay attention the more they're getting exactly what they want. They should get no more air time no more stories. Everyone should ignore them, except the authorities who need to find out if this was just a sick hoax.

The first clip is comedic perfection.

"It was for the show"

"oh man"

*fart*

This person was at his lowest, just exposed as a huge liar, and then he farts on top of it? Oh god, I can't stop laughing.
