Art and the Family

It's the theme of the season.

That's Tim Roda and his son (at Greg Kucera). Brings to mind these.

I find the last one unsettling. Doesn't Sasha look older than she is? The mythology is not working for me.

It's not working for you since it appears to be staged; much more than the one's with JFK.

Much older... you mean like Presidential jailbait?

Staged? It looks like a young woman either spying on or sneaking up on the President!! Not like a kid playing...

Umm, she looks like an 8-year old with tall parents.

On a few occassions, my daughter has played the same spying game while I'm in my home office. Usually it ends with me hearing some giggling and turning around to catch her (and a friend sometimes) scamper off laughing.

@3: Are we sure it's even Sasha? Could be a disguised zealous Limbaughite suicide bomber just waiting for the opportunity to detonate the package strapped to his/her person.

@4: Do you usually have a photography lurking around your office on the off chance your daughter is feeling prankish?

My daughter looks older than she is too.
It unsettles me that people get unsettled when she acts her age and not the age they think she is.

Young girls should be able to play hide and seek or hold their dad's hand without people thinking of creepy thoughts.

But yea, this photo looks staged.

Is the door little John John's using in this pic the same one Monica used 40some years later?

He should ditch that crappy old furniture and get him some of that nice Donald Judd stuff.

@10: you're not far off. that room's decor stinks like reagan's corpse. it's awful.

That's the Resolute Desk. The little door in the front was put in by Roosevelt to accommodate his wheelchair.

And yes, Clinton also used that desk.

It appears to me that Sasha's feet are pinned under that fugly sofa or is she reinacting Wyeth's "Christina's World?"

@6- No, but I'm not the President. He actually does have photographers around most of the time. Like half the people who come into his office want to get the handshake picture.

I don't have a photographer following my family around, but I probably would if I were the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

Anyway, who says this was taken by a photographer? My wife and kids have been known to snap spontaneous photos like this.

The top photo is the only one here that is staged.
