The Morning News

Posted by on Tue, Oct 20, 2009 at 8:24 AM

Runoff in Afghanistan: Too many fraudulent ballots mean it's Hamid Karzai vs. Abdullah Abdullah.

Bombings in Pakistan: This time at an Islamic university.

Held by the Taliban: Part three of David Rhode's story.

The internet is changing our brains! But maybe for the better?

Secret Service: Swamped by a rise in racists, government haters, and other threatening characters.

Public option: A clear majority of Americans now back it, according to a new Washington Post poll.

McGinn: No longer promising to stop the tunnel.

Men: Not happy.

Obama's review of Where the Wild Things Are: Thumbs up.

And it's no Drowning Dow, but a coalition of groups, including Planned Parenthood, have launched this new anti-Hutchison ad:

So when Sue Cuntchinson wins in November are we going to have to listen to right wing nut jobs celebrate how liberalism is dead in Seattle and King County?

For the past 11 hours there have been 15 spam questions posted to QuestionLand, cluttering up its main page.

Can you (the Stranger) possibly consider having more than one person on QL moderation duty? Thanks.

Here's what I don't get: For months all people have been talking about is how Hutchison is a conservative, but nobody knows it. Yet that's all people have been pointing out over the past several months. In fact, that's all I know about her. So how can her opponents claim that no one knows she's a conservative when that's the only thing most people know about her?

@5, go fuck yourself with a rusty chainsaw. And ask Sue to help you; I'm sure she will.

Remember: the only good republican is a republican in prison.

@10 That's because "independent voters" are idiots. I mean, really? They don't have a opinion on economic/social issues that transcends individual elections yet? What are they voting on every election, the candidates hair?
