Health Greeting the Speaker

This afternoon on the sidewalk outside Swedish Hospital on First Hill, just after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi finished her health insurance reform press conference, a remarkable collection of teabaggers displayed themselves. We begin with the man who's missing an apostrophe and so much more....
...and proceed to this mom-and-daughter team of camera baiters...
...and arrive, finally, inevitably, at the man wearing the NOPE hat:

If those were the craziest of the tea-baggers in attendance they really need to step-up their game in this state. PS Swedish Hospital is on First Hill, not Capitol Hill.

@ 3 It's petty but I totally think it's worth the effort.
You can often achieve a good reaction without resulting to vulgar hand gestures.
I remember walking by an anti-Israel rally in Westlake Park a few years back and when one of the protesters approached me with a pamphlet I politely declined her pamplet and informed her that I supported Israel's right to exist and defend herself (which was and is my stance). She mumbled something, turned her back on me, and then suddenly wheeled back on me and screamed, "WELL FUCK YOU THEN!"
You can often achieve a good reaction without resulting to vulgar hand gestures.

Oh my sweet Lord, I recognize the mom in photo #2. She was best friends with my mother during college. They tried to keep the friendship going when I was a kid, but good ol' Auntie Kay had already started her long, slow slide into right-wing batshit craziness. I've seen some of the emails she still forwards to my mom. I'm not at all surprised to see her there.

I'd for some of you liberal intellectual giants to explain to me how you can't see the slide to fascism and communism we are currently undergoing.
Plus, I know a lot of you like to laugh at how some of us say that Obama is both a fascist and a communist. Perhaps you'd like to explain how both are necessarily mutually exclusive.

Baby killing? Really? God.... What happened to the simple fact that we are SUPPOSED to be "America"... Women should have the right to choose. Full stop. You may not agree with it... but... REMEMBER we are America.... Land of freedom and equality. If you don't believe in abortions... don't have one. Simple as that. Same goes for gay rights, If you don't believe in gay rights..... If I read this nearly 2,000 page bill it could very well leave a bad taste in my mouth. But this shit is no more "socialist" or "fascist" than anything else this country has been through before. Fascism?? Where were you clowns during the Bush administration? Thanks to them it is a given, for all of us, that the right to privacy amongst other freedoms is history. What bewilders us misunderstood liberals, mr. and ms/mrs teabagger, is that we know what truly liberal, or extremely liberal, policies look like and we have seen nothing of the sort from the Obama administration, Pelosi, Reed, etc.

Let's give this loud-mouthed minority of idiots Texas, seceded from the U.S.A. There we can see their ideology in action. Pure, uncurbed capitalism. No taxes for anything. Not for roads, not for public transportation, not for the police, not for the fire department, postal service, national guard, military, education, government safety nets, environmental protections, etc. Let it all become privatized, totally unregulated. The poor, and anyone who doesn't happen to do well with the capitalist game can suffer and die in poverty at an exponential rate. The middle class will vanish within years. It can all progress, or regress, until Texas becomes a third-world rogue state ruled by one crazy monopolist threatening nuclear warfare on the U.S.A. At which point we invade them, go in there and witness with our own eyes and TV cameras, what becomes of a country that trusts corporate power over government. Government is the only thing powerful enough to protect us from evil corporations that need us to suffer in order for them to make more profit than they know what to do with. If that's what the teabaggers want let THEM learn the hard way. At least then we can all move on and learn to appreciate the "socialist" government actions of the last century which sustained us well enough to become the formerly greatest superpower on earth. Instead of letting this contingency of idiocrats hold us back from evolving. Which, ironically, they are also fearful of.
