McGinn Bulks Up Transition Crew, Prepares to Launch New Website

Posted by on Mon, Nov 16, 2009 at 2:24 PM

Mayor-elect Mike McGinn continues to beef up his outreach crew for his transition into City Hall. At a meeting on Friday, McGinn called in former city council member Heidi Wills, People’s Waterfront Coalition director Cary Moon, and Port Commissioner-Elect Rob Holland. Each are tasked with reaching out to their respective constituents and friends about how to build a better mayor's office. For example, Holland says, “He asked me reach out to the maritime community on his behalf."

Other recent additions to the transition outreach effort include Sharon Lee, executive director of the Low Income Housing Institute, Kim Cook, president of Local 925 in Washington State, and Joshua Curtis, executive director of Great City.

Meanwhile, David Postman, currently a spokesman for Vulcan who is assisting McGinn’s transition team, said Vulcan’s community outreach coordinator Phil Fuji has also joined the effort. Fuji used to work for the city and is providing consultation about city departments and utitlies.

McGinn plans to roll out a transition website later today—at the soonest—or later this week, Postman says.

Will the new transition website be developed by the covert puppet MERCURY GROUP? If so, I am going to block it on my Internet lest T. Boone Pickens steal my COMPUTER BYTES.

aren't beef up - or even flesh out - both meat-centric viewpoints?

I think city council should do a hearing about that and argue about exactly what a Vegan is for a few years ....

I heard Seattle's tourist slogan is changing from "Seattle: Metronatural" to "Seattle: A Covert Mercury-Pickens-AT&T-Vulcan Governo-Industrial Shadow Alliance". Is this true? Including both "covert" and "shadow" seems redundant and could be confusing to tourists.

what is Heidi Wills constituency? didn't she get tossed out of six years ago and works for golfers... is that her constituency -- the golf community.

You can hear the question now, "What do you think Mayor Moonbeam can do for golfers?" Answer -- Fight gophers.

At a meeting on Friday, McGinn called in former city council member Heidi Wills, People’s Waterfront Coalition director Cary Moon, and Port Commissioner-Elect Rob Holland. The meeting was delayed 15 minutes while Stranger staffer and major McGinn fanboy Dominic Holden spontaneously fellated Hizonor while mumbling "thank you- thank you very much, Sir!"

Man. . . I should of had "a bulky transition crew" when I transitioned to female. . .

McGinn is going to need a ton of laser hair removal! :)

#5: Heidi Wills' constituency? Why, it's the MERCURY GROUP! When she ran for office, she funneled over half her campaign funds into the Shadow-Puppet-Covert-Industrial Mercury Group!

We're through the rabbit hole, sheeples!!

@10 - Yes, Will... the "once relevent powers that be" are constantly monitoring SLOG for opportunities to comment in an attempt to further their Illuminati agenda. That's exactly how they roll. You really have 'em dialed in.

by the way, what is an "utitlies"? (from the main SLOG post) ... is that anything like "utilities"?

what I love is how the smart ones already jumped to King County, actually, Hob.

Looking to Sharon Lee for advice on housing and homelessness is a tremendous step in the right direction. She's one of the most progressive voices in the city when it comes to housing issues, and was forever at loggerheads with Nickels' Office of Housing over their head-in-the-sand approach to the city's homeless problems. This bodes very very well for a genuinely well informed and proactive Mayor. And Joshua Curtis (who coincidentally holds McGinn's old job?) is a brain and hottie!

Being on a board with Josh, we all thought he did very very well. Especially with the ladies ...

Sharon Lee is another SHARE loser. Luckily here in Ballard we just kicked their pedophile/arsonist filled shelter out!

Sharon Lee is lame in every regard except her ability to have her photo taken with politicians. LIHI is mismanaged and actually had to sell a low income housing building. Should have chose a stronger housing organization. CHHIP, HRG, or Plymouth...
