You may remember the big kerfuffle back during last year's election when people were skipping over Tim Eyman's pernicious Initiative 1033 because it hid in the bottom corner, camouflaged among the ballot's instructions. Well, state Representative Scott White (D-46) has filed a bill that would easily fix this error:

The ballot must have a clear delineation between the ballot instructions and where the voting is to begin. Immediately following the ballot instructions, the words: "BEGIN VOTING HERE" must appear in a font size larger than what is used for ballot instructions and ballot questions.

The bill is scheduled for a public hearing today in the House Committee on State Government and Tribal Affairs. We'll see if it goes anywhere.
