So this 60 Minutes segment, about the Bloom Box, is all over the internet today. The device is a smaller, decentralized, supposedly more efficient power source.
First things first: I haven't seen 60 Minutes in something like fifteen years; has it always been this stupid? The reporter's weird double-takes were so ridiculous I almost thought I was watching a parody or a cheesy infomercial or something. Her whole point of feigning surprise that she was getting an exclusive look inside the Bloom Box was just weird.
As to the actual Bloom Box: I don't know enough about this sort of thing to make a judgment or speak definitively on it (but I do think, linguistically speaking, that "Bloom Box" is a wonderful name for this kind of a device.) If you're better-versed in the ways of energy, I'd love to hear your opinions on it.
