The Huffington Post has a slideshow depicting a new idea in public transportation from China: a bus that glides over traffic, allowing cars to speed by underneath it:

The bus (called, obnoxiously, a "3D Express Coach," leaving one to wonder if "Hi-Fi Disco Bus" was already taken) is more of a light-rail train, with tracks on either side of the road. Construction of the first 115 miles of tracks begins later this year. If China can iron out the logistical problems with this kind of transport (What are very tall trucks supposed to do? What if you're in a car under one of these things and you need to turn to the left or right?) I hope to see one of these running down Lake City Way one day.
