Counterpoint Press is shuttering their New York office; from now on, they're strictly a Berkeley operation.

That office was home to Counterpoint's Soft Skull imprint as well as editorial director Denise Oswald and associate editor Anne Horowitz. Soft Skull will continue as an imprint from Counterpoint's Berkeley office. Oswald and Horowitz will leave Counterpoint at the end of the month, but will stay on in a freelance capacity to publish all books under contract.

Soft Skull used to be such a vibrant publisher. (Here's Brendan's review of Soft Skull title China Underground.) Hopefully, the West Coast will be a friendly home to them.
