It's true! Kind of!

For mysterious reasons (sabotage!!!), I never received my ballot in the mail this year. Being a lazy/forgetful person, I never did anything about it. Then, this past Friday, I started wondering how the fuck I was going to vote in this very important election. I came across this advice in Electionland:

You should contact your County Auditor's office immediately. There is not enough time to receive a replacement ballot by mail so you will have to pick one up in person.

Here is the direct link to King County's Auditor: http://www.kingcounty.gov/elections.aspx

206-296-VOTE (8683)
800-325-6165

I called the number and a nice lady answered immediately. I said, "Hi, I never received my ballot in the mail, and I'm wondering if there's anywhere I can go pick one up in person." She said, "Yeah, you can come to our office in Tukwila and pick one up." "Okay," I said, taking down the address and clearing my entire weekend for the journey to fucking Tukwila and back. Then she interrupted me. "Or I can just e-mail it to you."

"Wait. I can vote...by e-mail?" I said.
"Sure," she said.

She verified my information and took my e-mail address. A few hours later I received the promised electronic mail, with instructions on how to turn it into PHYSICAL DEMOCRACY:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Print attached Ballot and Voter Oath.

2. On the Ballot, vote for the candidate(s) and/or issue(s) of your choice.

3. The Voters’ Pamphlet for this election is available online at www.kingcounty.gov/elections starting September 20th.

4. When you finish voting, place your voted Ballot in an envelope. Write “Security Envelope” on the outside of this envelope and seal.

So don't despair, all you last-minute fuck-ups out there! You can either drive to Tukwila, OR you can have Tukwila delivered right to your computer. Just make sure you do something. Vote! Vote! Vote!
