I know you get your share of hate mail. This is a piece of "love mail." Just wanted to let you know that I am an avid listener of the "Savage Lovecast." Really passes the time on public transit...

Tonight, I was catching up on a few casts that I have missed, when you mentioned the Trevor Project and the It Gets Better Project. It got me thinking back to when I was in school, and was subjected to harassment and abuse at the hands of bullies. Then you talked about going out when you're home for the holidays—go to a bar, have a drink, take a break from the folks—and I've done just that on many occasions. You'll never guess what's happened to me when I've been out out at bars in the city where I grew up: many of the same people who tormented me (keyed my car, trashed my locker, beat the hell out of me) have come up to me and apologized for the bullshit they put me through. One in particular had taken a class at college about human sexuality and told me it helped him come to terms with his own sexuality. I took him home—to my parents place—and fucked the hell out of him that night. I was finally able to take out my angst and aggression from that time of my life. ON HIS ASS. Ha!

In conclusion, my life HAS gotten better. Stability, acceptance, and love are there for me. I have spent the last hour and a half reading up on the Trevor Project, and It Gets Better. Thank God that there are finally some resources available for the generation following us to help them realize that they're not stuck and things will get better for them. Keep up the great advice, advocacy, and positive attitude. Thanks for everything, Dan!
