Eating two Kalua pork sliders ($5) from Pai's Food Truck right now (sorry, keyboard). Really pretty, with lots of glossy slaw and a light dusting of flour on top of the buns. And really pretty good, if you enjoy an uncomplicated salty-pork-vs.-sweetish-slaw slider situation. Slaw could use some pepper for brightness; pork is appropriately all fally-aparty, if possibly a tiny bit too salty. Two is more than enough for lunch, though: a high-value proposition.

Pai's also had a mushroom slider and a couple curry options (a hard sell on the Hill with Thai Curry Simple's shack nearby). The man was super nice. I felt a little sad when I walked up—they're parked at the gas station at Broadway and Pike today until 2 p.m.—and he provided the kind of basic, good-hearted human interaction that makes the world seem better than it did moments before. We discussed the recent brief hail.

Reader-reviewer Pink182 loves Pai's—five stars!

Delicious food at affordable prices. What more can you ask from a lunch truck? I love that they rotate their menu to keep it new and exciting.

Now that I have finished eating, I would just like to say: Can we outlaw the word "slider" in connection with food? People should not have to think of food sliding.
