This Morning When I Was Stumbling Around Without My Glasses On

Posted by on Tue, Jul 19, 2011 at 11:03 AM

I went to put some eye drops in, but accidentally put ear drops in my left eye. Is this bad?

Are you experiencing synesthesia?

If you're that visually impaired, always put bright colored tape on your eye-drops bottle, so that you can see it's safe even without your glasses.

I can't read the poll. I put eardrops into my eyes some years ago.

Your symptoms may include posting random photos for no reason.

At least you won't have to worry about waxy eyes.

I would call a nurse hotline instead of leaving your eye care up to random people on the internet.

If you start seeing dead birds everywhere you go, it's bad. If not, simply soak up the excess with a dash of foot powder, and go on about your business.

What's in the eardrops? Did it hurt?

Oh, polls are fun. Even random ones. (I voted "no").

Your eardrops probably contain carbamide peroxide, which acts like hydrogen peroxide but a little less fizzy. Could still burn your eye. I assume by now you've rinsed your eye out thoroughly (under cool running water). Dry and style your hair... whoa, that was quick! If you normally wear contacts, don't today. Use a lubricating eyedrop (have someone else read the label for you, dumbshit). Steal someone's seeing-eye dog to get to work (we've all seen then on TV; how hard can they be to work?).

The only thing that can help you is lots of alcohol.

Where's the option for "I'm no medical doctor, but I'm happy to point and laugh at you"?

@ 5, you know, it isn't that hard to scroll past these. And if you think "random shit" has no place on SLOG, then you really must be new here.

I voted that it wasn't a bad thing. I think we should all go through at least one day out of our lives looking like Popeye I tells ya.

Just put eye drops in your right ear and they'll cancel-out each other. No, really.

I wish this had been a poll about which Slog staffer accidentally put ear drops in his eye. I knew with certitude before I looked at the byline.

Why is that?
