The artists renting at the longtime Art Walk hub 619 Western will have to leave six months before they thought they would, according to a DPD letter they received today—and there isn't even time for one last Art Walk.

Knowing they'd have to leave, many artists planned to do clearance sales the last few Art Walks, and this notice means they won't be able to do even that.

The landlord was willing to fix the building in order to upgrade it seismically, but DPD and WSDOT say it won't be possible on the timeline they're giving.

All this to build the tunnel.
