At a stop before exiting the Beacon Hill tunnel, fare enforcements officers removed a young black mother from the train for not having a ticket.

As the officer took forever writing up a ticket, the young mother and her baby, who was in a stroller, waited and waited. This sort of thing should not happen. A mother with an infant, and a mother of any color, should be exempt from ticket enforcement. The same should go for a father with a baby. But most likely it will be mother in this situation, and if young and black, most likely she is raising a child with limited resources. Removing a mother from the train only adds to her problems. Raising a child alone is no joke.
