I promised an update with menu specifics, and here it is, from Working Washington spokesperson Anne Martens:

Plain old tomato soup. No boots or shoes will be added for flavor. And if it gets cold, we can call it gazpacho.

What's this all about, again?

From Martens: "Fed up with politicians’ refusal to create jobs, hundreds of unemployed will form a Great Depression-style unemployment line on Thursday, August 18, outside of Rep. Reichert’s Mercer Island district office. Nearly 20% of people in Washington (or one out of every five) are either unemployed, looking for more work, or have stopped looking for work. The recession may be over for the very rich, but it’s not over for the rest of us."

Also: "Even with unemployment rising in his own district, Rep. Reichert continues to vote for policies that benefit the very rich at the expense of the rest of us."

Event details in the jump.
