Richard Mitchell, the Democratic gentleman running against Republican King County Council member Jane Hauge, announced a slew of endorsements this morning.

His latest backers include: Congressman Jay Inslee, Congressman Adam Smith, Congressman Jim McDermott, State Treasurer Jim McIntire, State Senator Maralyn Chase, State Senator Margarita Prentice, State Representative Ross Hunter, State Representative Ruth Kagi, State Representative Marko Liias, State Representative Joe Fitzgibbon, State Representative David Frockt, State Representative Phyllis Gutierrez Kenney, State Representative Jeanne Kohl-Welles, and King County Conservation Voters.

As we reported a couple weeks ago, Mitchell was beating Hague in late ballot returns in the primary election. And those sort of late voters tend to more closely reflect the electorate in the general election—which is to say: With his sway over the broader pool of voters we'll see in November and his latest the flock of institutional support (to say nothing of Hague's controversial past), Mr. Mitchell is ripe to be called Council Member Mitchell in few months.
