Yeah, yeah, we know the unprincipled, illiterate, hypocritical douchebags on the Seattle Times editorial board vehemently oppose I-1163, because it's sponsored by a union, and they hate everything even remotely union related. But just watch how they use the initiative as an opportunity to give equally union-hating Republican gubernatorial wannabe Rob McKenna a sloppy editorial blowjob, while slapping his Democratic opponent Jay Inslee.

Their thesis—that leadership is about saying "no" or something (the rallying cry of an abusive parent)—is beside the point. For what this editorial is really about is the Seattle Times' naked, unshakeable, partisan support for McKenna, and their willingness to do everything and anything to trash Inslee's prospects.

Let's be clear: The 2012 gubernatorial endorsement is not up for grabs. Inslee has absolutely zero chance of winning their endorsement, and zero chance of being treated fairly on the paper's editorial pages. And given the overt and obvious preference of the publisher and editors, it will be hard for Inslee to get a fair shake in the news pages as well.

Oh, I'm not saying some reporters won't try to be fair. But they're only human. And when the folks who hold your career in the palm of their hands hold such obvious hatred for one candidate, and such obvious passion for another, it just can't help affect the way you cover the race.

Nothing you read in the Seattle Times about this race can be trusted. Absolutely nothing. As for The Stranger, well, at least we're honest about our bias, and trust you to read us in that context.
