I generally don't post book trailers on Slog. Most of them are embarrassing and packed with in-jokes, and if publishers want to advertise their books, they can buy an ad from The Stranger like everyone else. But this book trailer, for Snooki's Confessions of a Guidette, is remarkable because it features Simon & Schuster staffers debasing themselves to sell a schlocky "celebrity" novelty book. You can't look away from all the bad acting and shameless dumbing-down:

There was a director's cut of this trailer that I watched last night, but that was deleted by the user sometime between last night and this morning. It was basically the same thing, except it featured a few more minutes of interns and low-level S&S employees making fools out of themselves. This is what the slow, cancerous death of the publishing industry looks like.
