In this week's news section, Eli and I debate over Darcy Burner's recently announced third run for Congress. I argue that Burner's experience, fundraising prowess, and name ID make her the instant frontrunner in the redrawn WA-01, while Eli... well... Eli's just plain wrong.

Speaking of Burner, it was fascinating to see her picking up some of the language of the Occupy movement in her announcement video, but not at all surprising to those of us who know her well. As the video below from a 2008 house party shows, Burner has been talking about these economic issues for years in language that would be well familiar to the Occupiers, but long before frustration over the growing income gap exploded into a popular movement.

This is authentic Burner, and something which I think will play well with voters hungry for a candidate they can trust to stand up to Wall Street.
