Police are investigating a sexual assault—reportedly committed at knife point—that took place early on the morning of Monday, November 14, in a man's apartment on Capitol Hill. According to the SPD Blotter, the victim reported being sexually assaulted by a complete stranger around 1:30 a.m. in his apartment, which is located somewhere near the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Roy Street.

Police interviewed the victim in the hospital. However, detectives aren't releasing details like how the assailant came to be inside the victim's apartment, what type of knife he was allegedly wielding, or any injuries sustained by the victim. "This is an ongoing investigation," explains SPD spokesman Det. Mark Jamieson. Police are now searching for a suspect "30-40 years old, medium build, with short dark hair and beard." He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a red t-shirt with a white logo, blue jeans and black gloves. He is considered "armed and dangerous."

Police have asked anyone with information to call 911.
