This week's short film is Craig Downing's “This True Story Dad Club.” Shot on 16mm black and white film, the short consists of two elements: a story and its mood. You hear the story and you see its mood. In essence, “This True Story Dad Club” is an experiment that reveals the workings of two of the core components in any body of cinema. Another brilliant thing about this experiment is the story is what you hear and the mood is what you see. It's often the other way around: the mood (usually music) is what you hear and the story is what you see.
