Nature Will Continue to Kick Our Asses: The snow is melting but wind is on the way. 225,000 homes and businesses were without power yesterday, according to Puget Sound Energy.

Bus Crash Thursday Morning: Caused by a man who refused to pay his full fare and then punched the driver in the face, according to police:

At 6:10 a.m. Thursday, the bus was moving in the 4300 block of 15th Avenue Northeast when the suspect paid the driver $1.50 and demanded a transfer. When the driver refused, the man punched the driver in the face, causing the bus to crash into a street-side tree, a Seattle Police investigator told the court. The man is alleged to have punched the driver a second time before a passing patrol officer arrived on the scene.

South Carolina Primary! It's today! I'm sorry to say that it's only the third primary or caucus and it's only January.

Speaking of South Carolina: My husband-who-just-doesn't-know-it-yet Stephen Colbert hosted a rally this morning that drew thousands of students. He urged his supporters to vote for Herman Cain, who is actually on the ballot, and delivered a stirring speech:

“There are cynics who say you have to be a billionaire to have your voice heard in Washington,” Colbert said. “Wrong. You just have to know a billionaire.”

Redistricting in Texas: The Supreme Court threw out the map drawn by a federal court because it had "ambiguous standards." Why does this matter? Texas is getting four new congressional seats and the district map will determine whether Democrats or Republicans can win them.

Nigeria: At least 120 are dead after bombings in Kano. Boko Haram, the group that allegedly bombed churches on Christmas Day, took the credit.

Some Headlines Speak for Themselves (and Are Very Long): "Knocking back the brewskis: Putin reaffirms macho image with football and beer session (but why isn't he watching the game?)"

Violence in Syria: Not over.

I'm sure many of you have already seen this, but it's only 55 seconds and it makes me smile. Happy Saturday!
