Most of the Michigan Polls Have Closed

Posted by on Tue, Feb 28, 2012 at 5:05 PM

The numbers might be playing against Rick Santorum in Michigan. According to the New York Times, older voters are showing up in huge numbers—only 24% of voters are under 45 years old—and Romney dominates among the old. Politico says that their exit polls are showing Romney ahead by up to three points. I'm hoping for a Santorum win, but it doesn't look good.

In other news, the Politico election night livestream is sponsored by Skittles. That's pretty much all you need to know, isn't it? On the Politico livestream, some Romney surrogate just called Mitt Romney "the comeback kid," and suggested that last night's Romney rally with Kid Rock meant that he was going to "rock the voters." Surprisingly, he did not burst into flames or projectile vomit after he said that.

Skittles are very appropriate.

I remember when, living on Grosse Isle, Michigan, we regarded London, Ontario as a foreign land with strange but cool candy, even though we were closer to it than Detroit.

Watching the returns roll in. Rooting for Rick Santorum. It's a wierd feeling, pulling for Santorum.

@1: Grosse Ile. And you would have been closer to Windsor than Detroit, not London. If you had lived there.
